Al-Awsi A Prominent Servant of Quran in West: Islamic Center of England Chief

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The head of the Islamic Center of England expressed condolences over the death of Ali Ramadan al-Awsi, a Muslim scholar and Quranic researcher at the University of London.

In a message on Tuesday, Hojat-ol-Islam Seyed Hashem Moosavi described al-Awsi as a great scholar and learned Mufasir (Quran interpreter).

He said al-Awsi was an outstanding servant of the Holy Quran and a valuable asset for the Islamic society in the West.

Hojat-ol-Islam Moosavi offered condolences to the family, friends and students of al-Awsi and prayed that God bless the late scholar’s soul and elevate his ranks to the highest.

Al-Awsi, who passed away in London on Monday after a long illness, was a university of London professor and director of the Center for Southern Iraq Studies.

He was a Middle East affairs analyst and also had studies in religious and cultural fields.
